The Vista Fire Department's Fire Prevention Bureau issues permits for special events. Before you book a 20x30 or 20x40, confirm with the department whether your tent size and location need one.

Jumpers and generators in parks
Contracted entertainment such as jumpers and game trucks may be used only in designated areas with an approved generator, and the city charges $75 for a jumper. Jump companies must carry liability insurance naming the City of Vista as additionally insured.
No amplified sound
Amplification is not allowed in any city park, so plan on unplugged entertainment such as lawn games or carnival booths.
Alcohol at picnic areas
Alcohol is not permitted at youth events such as birthday parties. Where it is allowed, it is limited to beer, wine and champagne up to 14% alcohol, and the city charges a $50 fee.
