Encinitas has a tent permit process through its fire prevention office and an outdoor use permit for park and beach gatherings; here is what to know before you order.
Tent permit over 400 sq ft
The City of Encinitas requires an operational permit for a tent larger than 400 sq ft, so our 20x30 and 20x40 tents need one and the 20x20 and every canopy do not. The application asks for a State Fire Marshal flame-resistance certificate, a floor plan and a site plan, and needs current city business registration.

Parks and Moonlight Beach

No generators, bounce houses or amplified sound in parks

Encinitas beaches allow no alcohol and no glass containers, and fires are allowed only in the fire rings at Moonlight Beach. For a park gathering, the outdoor permit application asks about alcohol and requires an ABC permit if it will be served.
