Tent Rentals in Escondido
A 20×20 high peak tent is the starting point for Escondido tent rentals at $500, and every tent includes crew setup and takedown. Step up to the 20×30 for about 50 seated guests, or the 20×40 for about 66 seated and 133 standing.
Here the permit line matters. The fire department requires a permit for any tent over 400 sq ft, which includes our 20×30 and 20×40, and the application needs a detailed site plan plus Planning Department approval. Start that paperwork early when booking a larger tent.
- Crew setup and takedown included
- A 20×20 is exactly 400 sq ft, so it does not exceed the permit threshold
- Panorama sidewalls from $50

Canopy Rentals in Escondido
Escondido canopy rentals begin at $70 for a 10x10, and a 10x20 at $120 seats about 16 guests at round tables. Longer 10x30 and 10x40 frames cover a buffet or a row of vendor tables.
Because the largest canopy covers 400 sq ft, none of them crosses the fire permit threshold for tents. On a sloped lot, a line of canopies on the flattest strip can replace a single tent that would need a big level pad. Park picnics for 50 or more require a reserved picnic area under city policy.
- No canopy we rent exceeds 400 sq ft

Table and Chair Rentals in Escondido
The lowest-cost seating in Escondido is a $3 white folding chair at a $12 6ft banquet table, which seats six. Rounds and 8ft banquets seat eight, and cocktail, 4ft adjustable and kids picnic tables round out the options.
Choose rounds for a sit-down dinner and banquets for a buffet line. For ceremonies, slatted resin chairs at $5 line up neatly in rows. A table-and-chair package saves ordering time, starting at $30 for a 6ft set. Our crew can place everything as a paid add-on.

Floor-Length Tablecloths and Cocktail Covers
Each floor-length tablecloth rents for $25 and comes sized for a 6ft banquet, an 8ft banquet or a 60-inch round. Spandex covers for cocktail tables are $20.
Two weeks is the minimum lead time on linens. If you are mixing table shapes, list how many of each size you need so every cloth fits, since a round cloth will not drape properly on a banquet table. Linens on the cake and gift tables finish the room.

Giant Yard Game Rentals in Escondido
In Escondido, giant yard games rent from $40 for Jenga or ring toss, up to $100 for yard pong. The $155 lawn game party package is the simplest way to cover a large group.
Reserve games at least a month ahead. A mix of quiet and active games works best: Connect 4 and Jenga for younger kids, cornhole for adults who want a tournament. Set them on level grass or a patio, away from the food and drink tables.

Concession Machine Rentals in Escondido
Escondido customers can rent a popcorn, cotton candy or snow cone machine for $100, and each comes with supplies for 50 servings. Add servings in batches of 50 for larger crowds.
Each machine needs its own 110V outlet. For a lawn far from the house, add a 100ft cord, and for a site with no outlets, add the generator. A carnival theme table for $20 gives the station a festive look and a steady surface for the machine.

Midway Games for School Fundraisers and Festivals
Midway-style carnival games rent for $110 each for the fish bowl toss and milk bottle bash. The carnival ring toss is $125, and prizes are not part of the rental.
PTA fundraisers and church festivals often rent all three to build a short game row. Price tickets to cover the rental and prize costs, and give each booth a carnival canopy so volunteers stay in the shade. Keep booths a few feet apart so the lines do not overlap.

Event Lighting and Generator Rentals in Escondido
Escondido evening events can be lit with 25ft string lights for $30 or 30ft globe light strands for $40, each with eight bulbs on the globe line. Both are delivered with the rest of your order.
No outlet nearby? The $100 generator puts out 3,900 running watts on gasoline and 3,500 on propane, lasting up to 18 hours depending on load. A 100ft extension cord at $20 covers shorter gaps between a house outlet and the tent. Amplified music in city parks needs written approval, so check before pairing lights with sound.

See what our customers say about us
We had the best experience with Tents & Things for our daughter’s first birthday! From the very beginning, they were so easy to work with, responsive, organized, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect.
The rentals were beautiful, clean, and exactly what we envisioned. They arrived on time, set everything up seamlessly, and made the entire process completely stress-free. It was one less thing for us to worry about, which meant so much while planning a big event.
If you’re looking for a company that’s reliable, professional, and truly goes above and beyond, I can’t recommend Tents & Things enough.
Would highly recommend! Good communication both during ordering and day of. On-time delivery and pick-up, very professional.
I had a fantastic experience renting tables and chairs from Tents and Things for a backyard dinner party I hosted. Selvin was incredibly responsive throughout the process, and his prices—including delivery—were very reasonable.
The equipment was in perfect condition, and Selvin was punctual for both delivery and pickup. He went above and beyond by offering to set everything up for me and even brought extra chairs just in case I needed them. I highly recommend Tents and Things for your next event!

Planning a party in Escondido: permits and park rules
Escondido has its own tent permit rule and asks for approvals on several park activities. Here is what the city's published pages say.
When a tent needs a fire permit
Escondido Fire Department requires a permit to operate any tent or membrane structure larger than 400 sq ft. That covers our 20x30 and 20x40 high peak tents; a 20x20 is exactly 400 sq ft. The application calls for a detailed site plan and Planning Department approval, so start early.
Questions, timing or current fees: Escondido Fire Department, 760-839-5400.
Reserving a city park
Under the city's facility use policy, groups of 50 or more must reserve a designated picnic area. Reservations open up to six months ahead, close 10 business days out, and are held only until noon on the day of use.
Community Services: 760-839-4691.
Jumpers and special equipment
Air jumps and inflatable games in city parks may require special permits and liability insurance, and Community Services asks for at least one week's notice. At Dixon Lake, jumpers are limited to certain areas and need a jumper permit; picnic reservations with a jumper are made by phone at 760-839-4045.
Alcohol and amplified music
Serving alcohol at a city facility needs approval from the Director of Community Services, requested at least 60 days ahead. Alcohol and glass are not allowed at Dixon Lake. Amplified music needs written approval and must stay under an 80-decibel one-hour average measured 50 feet from the source.
Sloped lots and tight yards
Tents need level ground: plan on a flat 25x25 ft area for a 20x20, 30x40 ft for a 20x30 and 30x45 ft for a 20x40. If your yard slopes, a row of canopies on the flattest strip may work better. Try our tent size calculator.
Popular events we set up
Graduation open houses
For a senior's open house, try a canopy row over banquet tables, a cornhole set on the lawn and a popcorn machine by the door.
Lake picnics
Booking a shelter at Dixon Lake? Jumpers there need a permit and alcohol is off the list, so confirm the lake's rules first, then plan around giant games.
Receptions at home
A 20x40 high peak tent seats about 66 at rounds. Add resin chairs, floor-length linens and globe lights for an evening reception in your own yard.
Office and team celebrations
Banquet tables, Lifetime chairs, a coffee urn and a 10x20 canopy cover a company lunch or customer appreciation day.
