This Privacy Policy explains how Tents and Things ("Tents and Things," "we," "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit tentsandthings.com, contact us, book a rental or receive messages from us. Tents and Things is a party and event rental company based in San Diego, California.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact form and inquiries: your first and last name, phone number, email address and anything you include in your message.
• Bookings and quotes: your name, phone number, email address, billing address, event or delivery address, event date and time, the rentals you choose and any setup notes.
• Payments: payment card details are entered into and processed by our booking system's payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our website or servers.
• Communications: records of calls, texts and emails you exchange with us.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, our site and service providers may automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring website and the date and time of your visit. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.

2. How we use information

• To answer your questions and give you quotes.
• To book, deliver, set up and pick up your rentals, and to take payment.
• To send booking confirmations, delivery reminders and other service messages.
• To send marketing messages, such as specials, if you have opted in. You can opt out at any time.

• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our rental agreements and policies.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as needed to run our business:

• Booking and payment providers: our online booking and rental management software and its payment processor, which process reservations and payments for us.
• Website service providers: our website host and the tools that run our site, including Google reCAPTCHA, which helps protect our contact form from spam (use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service), and embedded Google Maps.
• Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, or to protect our rights, property or safety or that of our customers or others.
• Business transfers: if our business is sold or merged, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Our service providers may use your information only to perform services for us.

4. Text messaging terms

If you opt in to text messages, you agree to receive informational messages (such as delivery reminders and booking notifications) and marketing messages (such as current and upcoming specials) from Tents and Things. 5. Cookies and similar technologies

Categories collected in the past 12 months: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address), customer records (billing and event addresses, booking details), commercial information (rentals booked), internet activity (site usage and cookies) and approximate location derived from IP address. We collect these from you directly and automatically from your device, and use them for the purposes in Section 2.

How to make a request: email info@tentsandthings.com or call (619) 289-8618. We will verify your identity by matching the information you give us with our records, and we will respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent, who must provide written permission from you.

Shine the Light: California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures.

7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Our site does not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals. Because we do not sell or share personal information, a Global Privacy Control signal does not change how we handle your information, but we treat it as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing.

Our website uses SSL encryption. Personal information is accessible only to people who need it to do their jobs and who are required to keep it confidential. Payments are handled by a payment gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Our website and services are intended for adults planning events. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Email communications

We send email to answer inquiries, confirm bookings and, if you agree, share specials. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and we honor unsubscribe requests promptly, consistent with the CAN-SPAM Act. You can also email info@tentsandthings.com to be removed from our list.
